What is Dole Whip?
Dole Whip soft serve is found all over Disney World and Disneyland, in many flavors like pineapple, lime, lemon, cherry, mango and orange. The most popular flavor is pineapple.
After testing out the Dole Pineapple-Flavored Soft Serve Mix as intended (as soft serve using our Cusinart soft serve maker), we wondered if there was more we could do with it. I mean, this soft serve mix comes in a large, 4.4 pound bag! So unless you've got a super sized appetite for Dole Whip, you're going to have some mix to use up before it expires.
Cheesecake Made With Real Dole Whip
While there are several recipes out there for copycat pineapple Dole Whip that do not have Dole Whip as an ingredient. Why make a pineapple cheesecake, when you can easily purchase the powdered Dole Whip soft serve mix they use in Disney parks?!
As it turns out, Dole Whip powdered mix contains stabilizers that are challenging to work with because they are sticky. We made this cheesecake over a dozen times to get a nice balance of creaminess and sweetness. This vegan Dole Whip cheesecake recipe is a labor of love!
Dole Whip is Vegan
Dole Whip is naturally vegan and our recipe is, too. We rely on brands like Daiya and So Delicious to get a cheesecake-y taste without adding an ounce of dairy. (For those who prefer a Dole Whip cheesecake using dairy products, click here.)
By using a store-bought crust, you can whip this pie up in just minutes. After all, the cheesecake filling is NO BAKE and easy to make!
Make sure to decorate your cheesecake with "hidden Mickeys" for extra pixie dust!
