It's Pride month and we're celebrating with this delicious Rainbow Drink recipe! Inspired by the Simply Rainbow cocktail at Disney Spring's Coca-Cola Store Rooftop Beverage Bar, the drink features Simply Orange juice, Tito's Vodka, blue curaçao, grenadine and Albanese Gummi Bears.
Rainbow Drink Magic
When these common cocktail ingredients are layered, a gorgeous rainbow appears! To build the drink, you start with red grenadine, fill the cup with ice, and carefully pour Simply Orange juice to nearly fill the glass. Some color magic happens next!
When you add the last layer, a combination of Tito's Handmade Vodka and blue curaçao, the green color magically appears! Our kindergarten art education teaches us that the yellow and the blue ingredients mix to form this beautiful green hue. Cue Kermit the Frog to sing "Rainbow Connection!"
Gummi Bear Rainbow
What's better than one rainbow? A double rainbow! The drink is garnished with adorable gummy bears in a variety of colors and flavors.
For this Rainbow Drink recipe, we use Albanese Gummi Bears. While still satisfyingly chewy, they're bigger and smoother than the average gummy bear. Their taste is also more sophisticated. Lined up on a cocktail skewer, the flavors are cherry, grapefruit, lemon, green apple, lime and blue raspberry. While they're all delicious, grapefruit is our favorite.
Stir It Up!
While this beverage is stunning to look at, stir before drinking! Sure, it's sad to see those brilliant colors fade. But, the resulting flavor is well worth the mundane, neutral color. When mixed, this drink tastes like rainbow sherbet.
So what happens if you don't mix the drink? You may get an entire gulp of grenadine or a shot of vodka. We'd hate to see anyone miss out on the true flavor of this drink, so don't forget to stir.
Yet another reason this pride cocktail recipe is so fun to drink is the restaurant-style pebbled tumbler that it comes in! It's the kind of glass that 90's kids would recognize as a Pizza Hut restaurant glass, minus its signature red color. You can buy a set of these on Amazon, both with and without the Coca-Cola logo.
