As we write this, we’re busy concocting boozy drinks for New Year’s Eve and are happy to share this Surly Sarlacc copycat recipe inspired by Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge!
We're already big fans of the Sour Sarlacc, Surly Sarlacc’s non-alcoholic counterpart that’s, sadly, no longer available at Disney World's Galaxy’s Edge. The Sour Sarlacc (copycat recipe here) is a tart and fruity beverage that woke up our taste buds for a 6am wake-up call to explore Galaxy’s Edge for the very first time.
As mentioned previously, if the name “sarlacc” sounds familiar, this desert-dwelling creature makes an appearance in the Star Wars Return of the Jedi. The sarlacc is responsible for Boba Fett’s defeat, as he falls into the creature’s mouth. As far as we know, we aren’t supposed to believe we’re drinking a component of a sarlacc here (as we suspect is the case with Moof Juice). Like a “Mule” cocktail, we think the “Sarlacc” name simply means that this drink packs a punch.
Now served at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, the Surly Sarlacc's ingredients read identical to the Sour Sarlacc, but with the addition of Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit & Rose vodka. Curious to see how this would taste as an alcoholic beverage, we ordered one up!
When the drink arrived at our table, we first noticed that it lacks the bright reddish hue of its non-alcoholic counterpart. But, happily, the Surly Sarlacc tastes nearly identical to the Sour Sarlacc, but with alcoholic benefits! And there’s just one alcoholic ingredient, which means you don’t have to break the bank at the liquor store to make one.
This is a shockingly easy and scrumptious drink to make back home. We hope you enjoy its Sarlacc inspired kick!

I would suggest omitting the 1/2 cup of water, and mixing this in a blender with 4-6 ice cubes. It makes for an even surlier Sarlacc.

That's a great idea, David, for a "Surlier Sarlacc!" Cheers!
